Cristiano Ronaldo claims that his work in Europe is done, but he received "several opportunities" from other clubs before joining Saudi Arabia's Al Nassr.
He left Manchester United after a contentious interview in which he criticized the team and joined Al Nassr as a free agent on Friday. The 37-year-old captain of Portugal claimed to have had offers from teams in Brazil, Australia, the US, and Portugal.
"I gave my word for this club," he said at his unveiling on Tuesday. "I won everything, I played for the most important clubs in Europe and now it is a new challenge in Asia."
According to reports, Ronaldo is expected to sign a contract that pays him more than £177 million a year through 2025, making it the largest football wage in history.
At his first press conference, Ronaldo informed the journalists, "As nobody knows, I can say today I had numerous possibilities in Europe, many clubs in Brazil, Australia, the US, and even in Portugal, many clubs sought to sign me.
