Uruguay beat Ghana but fail to advance to the next stage

Uruguay defeated Ghana 2-0 but was eliminated because South Korea advanced to the Round of 16 on the basis of points difference.
As the second half progressed, both teams hurled everything they had at one another. With numerous opportunities to score at the other end, Ghana was repeatedly denied by Sergio Rochet in the Uruguayan goal.
Georgian De Arrascaeta's two goals in the first half gave Uruguay a two-goal lead and gave them the appearance of being in control of the game.  But South Korea's victory required them to score once more to move on, and when they failed to do so, both nations are going home.
