Spain and Germany ends in a draw 1-1

Alvaro Morata gave Spain the lead against Germany just minutes after coming off the bench. However, Germany's Niclas Fullkrug, who was also a second-half substitution, tied the score to make it open going into the last 10 minutes. Joshua Kimmich nearly started the scoring in the second half, but Spain's Unai Simon stopped his attempt.
Despite appearing a little frazzled in the first half, Manuel Neuer made a quick save to prevent the opening goal after Dani Olmo pressed him to do so. Germany's Antonio Rudiger got the ball in the net at the same time, but his goal was disallowed for offside. La Roja crushed Costa Rica 7-0 in their debut game, but now they'll have to contend with the injured Germans, who unexpectedly lost 1-2 to Japan in their first match. If Hansi Flick's team loses versus Spain, they may lose their chance to advance to the Round of 16.
With four points and sole possession of the group lead, Spain is still in full control of its destiny despite the draw.
