Mason Greenwood might return to the Manchester United first team this summer, and club Getafe won't be able to stop him

The 22-year-old has spent the 2023-24 campaign on loan at La Liga's Getafe. He appeared to bid farewell to them on social media saying,
“Incredibly grateful to the Getafe family and fans for an amazing season.

“Thank you for making me feel welcomed and one of your own. I enjoyed every second, alongside my teammates and club.

“A bitter sweet ending, but it was a pleasure to play for you, I wish you all the best", Following their final La Liga outing of the season. That agreement will officially come to a close at the end of June.

Getafe fans begged him to stay with a new chant. By then, there will be a lot of interest in Greenwood, and the transfer window will be open. Clubs in the Premier League are rumored to have inquired about his availability, and teams from Serie A are claimed to be considering approaches.

The Manchester agreement with Greenwood is scheduled to expire in 2025, although a one-year extension may be initiated. Though a permanent transfer is thought to be in the works, there has been discussion about another loan being approved, which may put Getafe back into the picture.
