Iran scores twice in extra to win it at the last minute. Iran vs Wales 2-0
Nov 25, 2022
Iran took full most of their man advantage, scoring twice with two goals from Cheshmi and Rezaeian for the Asian team in stoppage time to defeat Wales 2-0 and go to the Group B semifinals. A foul committed outside the penalty area late in the second half, Wales goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey was dismissed from the game, giving Iran the lead as time expired. Neither of the two teams managed to create many significant chances during the first half, which remained a dull game. When he started the match against Iran earlier in the day, Gareth Bale became the 110th player in Wales history to start a game.
