Hugo Lloris, France goalkeeper, has announced his international football retirement.
Hugo Lloris, a goalkeeper for France and the 2018 World Cup champion, has retired from international football at the age of 36. A record 145 times, including 121 times as captain, the Tottenham captain has represented France's men's team.On Monday night, the French Football Federation posted on Twitter to confirm the news, listing some of his accomplishments and adding, “A Legend. Bravo and thank you for everything Hugo.”
Lloris made his international debut at age 21 in a friendly match against Uruguay in 2008, and he was a member of the France team that won the World Cup in 2018.
