Guardiola praises Man City winger: "Without you, what we do is impossible."
Following Wednesday night's Premier League victory over Leeds for Manchester City, Pep Guardiola praised Rico Lewis. Rodri had given the visitors the lead just before halftime, but Erling Haaland scored twice in the second half. Guardiola was eager to draw attention to the play of Lewis, an 18-year-old who was unexpectedly included in the starting lineup despite the availability of both Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo.Lewis, who was starting in the league for the Citizens for the first time, was brilliant up until the 68th minute, when he was replaced.
“Without Rico, what we do would be impossible. Defensively, he is so smart, understands the game and is so clever,” he told Amazon Prime. “That’s why he helps us to do our dynamics so much better. He has played really, really well. He’s an absolute reality for us.”-Pep Guardiola stated.
