Goncalo Ramos's hat-trick led Portugal defeat Switzerland 6-1.

Cristiano Ronaldo was not in the starting lineup for Portugal's FIFA World Cup 2022 Round of 16 match against Switzerland.The most prolific scorer in the history of international football was benched by Portugal manager Fernando Santos,following his angry response to being substituted in the last group game a 2-1 loss to South Korea. He was later substituted in the second half.
Goncalo Ramos, who took Ronaldo's place in the Portugal squad, scored a hat-trick,while Pepe, Raphael Guerreiro, and Raphel Leo each scored one goal as Ronaldo and Co thrashed Switzerland 6-1 in the Round of 16 clash.
The 21-year-old Goncalo Ramos, who started in place of Ronaldo, became the youngest player to score three goals in a World Cup quarterfinal game since Pele in 1958.
For the Swiss, Manuel Akanji was the only scorer.
Portugal will now face Morocco in the quarter-finals.
