Armando Broja suffers knee injury during friendly v Aston Villa
It "doesn't look positive" for Armando Broja, according to Chelsea manager Graham Potter, after the striker sustained what appears to be a major knee injury during a friendly match against Aston Villa.Following a productive loan stint at Southampton last year, Broja has played 12 Premier League games for Chelsea this season, 10 of them as a substitute, and has scored once.
The 21-year-old Albanian international struck Villa defender Ezri Konsa during a game in Abu Dhabi before clutching his right knee and yelling in agony.
"I think he got caught up with their player and the ground," Potter told Chelsea's website. "It doesn't look positive at the moment, but it is too early to say. Fingers crossed, but it is an awkward one."
