Erik ten Hag addresses Cristiano Ronaldo's Man United exit for the first time

Ronaldo's contract was mutually terminated by United two days before Portugal's World Cup campaign got underway following an controversial interview he gave to Piers Morgan on Talk TV in which he criticized the team and Ten Hag; the Dutchman told MUTV: "He's gone and it's the past."
Ten Hag added, "We are now going forward and we are looking to the future," Ronaldo, who is now free to join any club, has downplayed rumors that an agreement has been reached for him to join Saudi club Al Nassr, claiming the rumors are "untrue."
The 37-year-old was benched for Tuesday night's last-16 match against Switzerland. His replacement Goncalo Ramos' hat-trick propelled a 6-1 hammering.
